|A group of eager Didsbury beavers are looking at organizing a community vegetable garden within Town limits. They are looking for input from residents who might like to help create and maintain a community-run garden space.|
If all goes well, the efforts may even come to fruition in the spring of 2021!
Once a number of people have committed time to the effort, they will be looking for a location, one with accessible water and good quality soil. Eventually, they may need people to help build raised beds or waist level boxes, but raised beds would be discussed at the first get-together.
Some of the volunteers who are stepping forward also volunteer with Essentials for our Community. Their heart lies with quality food for those in need. It is likely some of those volunteers could help with basic maintenance in exchange for reaping some of the harvest.
If you are interested in getting involved, and having some home grown food as a bonus, please follow Didsbury AB Community Garden on Facebook.
