Are you a Snow Angel? - Posted: Thur, Nov 12, 2020, 03:16 pm - By Kathleen Windsor
It's November now, and it looks like snow is here to stay. Keeping sidewalks free of ice and snow can be very challenging for older adults and people with limited mobility.

Be a Snow Angel. Shovel your neighbour's sidewalk.Seniors Support Services is looking for volunteers to assist seniors with their snow removal. Through the Town's Snow Angels program, you are encouraged to be a good neighbour by clearing snow for those who need assistance.

What happens is that a senior in need will call Didsbury Neighbourhood Place to request snow removal and DNP will provide that person with a contact list of approved Snow Angels. If you're on the "Angel" list, you will get a phone call from that senior and can set up arrangements directly.

To be added to Didsbury's Snow Angels list, contact Neighbourhood Place at 403-335-8719. You must be prepared to have a Criminal Record Check.

You can also meet with Seniors Supports Services in person at 1606 - 14th Street (the Town Office).

Being a snow angel is a great way to get out, meet your neighbours and help build community spirit. Thanks to all our "angels"! A little shovel goes a long way in winter.
