Take a Leap of Kindness - Posted: Sat, Feb 8, 2020, 01:40 pm
Here's something for the extra day we get this February 29th - it's Leap of Kindness Day, and the Didsbury Chamber of Commerce reached out to local nonprofits in Didsbury and area and asked them for some ideas.

Leap of Kindness celebrate in 2020.What Leap of Kindness is all about is inspiring everyone in your community to do something kind for someone else on the extra day we all get on February 29th during a Leap Year.

A few organizations have jumped on the Chamber bandwagon and have offered a few suggestions you might like to pick up on, to spread kindness in our town.

The Didsbury Municipal Library is in desperate need of rolling, flip-top tables. These tables will help them host anything from an author talk for 100 inspired students, a lively afternoon book club, an after-school lego program filled with young building enthusiasts, or a study group cramming for the next big test. Purchasing furniture suited to this space will help the Library better meet the needs of our growing community. Please contact Monique at 403-335-3142 or

Mountain View Food Bank - The Food Bank is always in need of school lunch and snack supplies for children of all ages, such as canned meats, peanut butter, jams, cheese whiz, puddings, canned fruit, granola bars, juice boxes, and crackers. Call Gayle Meier at 403-556-1693 or to arrange to drop off.

Sk8park Society - This organization is still looking for cash or in-kind donations to help build the new skate park in Didsbury. Contact Erin Enns at 403-335-4814.

The Didsbury Museum is looking for an individual/group/company to help design and/or execute the landscaping in front of the Museum. The Museum is interested in ideas that are in keeping with the early 1900s. If you can help, please contact Dean Mousseau at 403-335-9295.

The Bethany - Didsbury would like to treat the residents with a day of donuts. We are asking for doughnuts for the 100 residents for Friday, February 28. Please contact Dawna Faryna or Joan Smyth at 403-335-4775.

Essentials for Our Community is requesting Donations of MyNR points at AG foods for our Charity to be used to buy meat for Konnection Kitchen or purchase of AG grocery cards to be used for supplies and meat.

Of course, you and your coworkers or family members may have your own "favourite" charitable organization. If this is the case, you should contact them and take action to do something kind on Leap of Kindness Day.
