|The sport of Pickleball had a good run this past year, and things are starting back again this fall, when Didsbury Community Pickleball returns next Monday.|
The fun begins on Monday, October 7th and continues on Monday nights from 6:45 - 9 pm at the Didsbury High School. (No Pickleball on Thanksgiving Monday, October 14th.)
For now, it will run until November 4th when basketball starts in full swing at the high school. If they get good numbers between these dates, more dates will be decided upon, and more fun will ensue!!
If you want to be on the Didsbury Pickleball email list, please message them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/groups/235551657318458 or email Craig at email@example.com.
Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis, with the main difference being that you hit a perforated plastic ball over the net. You can play singles or doubles, but doubles is often the favourite.
The game is relatively easy to learn and can develop into a face-paced, competitive game once you get onto it. It is a sport for all ages and abilities.
If you are just starting out, the group can provide you with a paddle and ball, all you need to bring is indoor shoes!
At this time, it is only open to age 18+.
Print the poster and put it on your fridge so you never forget "It's Pickleball Night"!
With a drop-in fee of only $3 there's no good reason not to try out this sport, but I'll warn you, it's easy to become addicted to this game!
