|If you love to laugh, you'll definitely want to be at the Mountain View Theatre Project's performance in December at the Elks Hall.|
The Theatre Group started up last year under the leadership of Tony Sylvestre, well-known in musical performances including "Guys and Dolls", "My Fair Lady", and "76 Trombones". He was also co-producer with Derek Lewis, in Theatre Didsbury productions a few years ago.
This year's Christmas show is a horrorbly funny comedy in three acts, "It's a Scream" by David Deboy.
Spencer has just inherited his father's film studio and thinks he knows better than his late father how to produce movies. The studio specializes in horror films and their biggest star is Alexander Moreau, a Karloff/Price/Carradine sort in whose mansion this comedy takes place. Spencer has come to inform Moreau that he is not renewing his contract. Moreau offers to demonstrate that he is still one scary guy. His proposition: if he can scare Spencer out of his wits, he gets a contract and creative control. Moreau pulls it off in wacky thriller style. (Best for ages 14 and up)
How it all ends up is for you to find out.
