Model Train Show May 26 and 27 - Posted: Mon, May 14, 2018, 09:57 am
Model Railroading is a great father/son or family hobby. It is educational as you learn history, geography, geology, botany, electrical, engineering and many other things. Kids will learn a lot without even realizing it.

A youngster marvelling at the model train village at the museum during the Arts Festival 2012.Your chance to get started in model railroading happens this month when the Mountain View Model Railroad Club hosts the 7th Annual Model Train Hobby and Craft Show on Saturday, May 26 and Sunday, May 27.

This year the Model Train and Hobby Extravaganza moves to a new town and a new and larger location - the Carstairs Curling Rink. The new site provides for ample parking and easier access to the show floor, which will be a treat for the exhibitors.

This is a family oriented event which will showcase model train displays, so bring the family and watch their eyes light up!

The show includes Free-mo modular model railroads as well, and will include craft and hobby displays that should even interest the non-model railroad enthusiast.

As a teaser to this great show, why not stop by the Didsbury Museum? The Mountain View Model Railroad Club has their model on display here and it's getting bigger and better all the time. Club members built walls to define their space and developed a basic track plan which would incorporate a portion of Didsbury facing the railway's right-of-way. This is an incredible display.

The Model Train and Hobby Show is a fundraiser to help the club with this exhibit.
