Ranch and Horses Help Healing - Posted: Thur, May 10, 2018, 03:16 pm
New to the Didsbury area is The Ranch Without Borders, a safe location where the program helps vulnerable women who have been abused through domestic violence or who have been sexually trafficked. The ranch uses animal assisted learning, mainly horses, as the therapist to help these women.

The Ranch Without Borders is located just outside Didsbury Alberta. This summer, though, the Ranch is hosting a day camp for girls ages 8 - 13. The camp will run July 23 - 27.

The goal of the camp is to make new friends and do activities that foster self-esteem, leadership and confidence. Participants will be doing crafts, playing games and a variety of other activities. A photo shoot with Scarlett Puffer Photography will also take place.

This summer camp is organized by Lori Frank, an Equine Professional Development Coach. Lori uses horses to help children and adults overcome personal obstacles, along with learning essential life skills like self-esteem and communication.

The camp has room for 12 girls at this time. If there is enough interest, another camp may be organized. Everyone will learn how to work with horses and possibly learn riding. The cost of the camp is $250.
