Come Splash With Us Didsbury - Posted: Mon, Jan 8, 2018, 07:35 pm
Our kids asked for it and the parents and friends and neighbours of parents have picked up their plea and are working diligently to bring a Spray Park to Didsbury!

What makes a great spray park is how the kids play with the water, as well as with one another when they are at the park.Last summer, a group of dedicated Didsbury residents began meeting to put some thought and energy into a Spray Park in town. With the belief that a Spray Park can keep dollars and business in our local community, but more importantly, to keep FUN here in town, this group is ready and eager to get to work.

And they want your help!

On September 12th, Gil Couture, one of the leaders of the group, made a brief presentation to Town Council. Following that presentation, Council directed Administration to draft a letter of support for the potential spray park society.

And organizational meeting took place in October, and now it's time to get back to discussions. Everyone in town is invited to the next meeting for "Come Splash with us at the Didsbury Library at 7 pm on Thursday, January 18th.

Bring your ideas, with the energy needed to make the dream of a Spray Park in Didsbury, a reality!

The current Memorial Complex Outlying Plan is calling for a "Misting Area". This group is hoping to raise funds for a "Spray Park", as a more appropriate recreational facility for Didsbury.

Note: While Olds and Carstairs call their parks "Splash Parks", they are actually "Spray Parks". There are considerable differences, including a different filtering system and the need for a lifeguard. Three Hills has a "splash park". Didsbury wants a "spray park".
