How much can you read? And more! - Posted: Sun, Jan 7, 2018, 12:16 pm
The Didsbury Library is doing it again! Giving back to the community! First off, no more library fines! Then there's Family Literacy Week. Keep reading!

Canada Reading Challenge. That's right - the Didsbury Library is doing away with late fines! You will no longer be charged fines for returning library items past their due date. Remember though, "Fine Freedom" does not mean freedom from responsibility. You still need to return or renew the books and items you have checked out so that other patrons can enjoy them.

All you have to do is bring in your library card, bring in a donation for the owl, and you'll get your fines "off the books" and clear your conscience at the same time!

But there's more!

The Canada 150 Reading Challenge is coming to an end and the Library will host a wrap-up party from 2 to 5 pm on January 27th coinciding with Family Literacy Day! Participants' logbooks will be entered into a draw for a fabulous family gift basket of Canadian games, books, and gift cards worth $150! There's even more prizes for “runners up” - just bring in your logbook (even with just one entry) and take home a prize!

Remember to mark your calendar for January 27th and join in on the fun that is Family Literacy Day across Canada. Lots of plans in the works, so check back to soon!
