Cut down your own Christmas tree - Posted: Tues, Dec 5, 2017, 11:35 am
Family Christmas traditions continue at the Mountain View County office, where you can go in and get a permit to cut down your own Christmas tree!!

Chop down your own tree for Christmas.Heading out to find the perfect Christmas tree is a cherished tradition for many Alberta families. There's no better way to start the season than with an old-fashioned fun family outing.

Just stop into the County office. Your permit allows you to cut up to three Christmas trees from designated areas. Each permit is just $5 plus GST.

Remember, take extra winter clothing and emergency supplies with you, including blankets, food and water, and candles.

A box of mandarin oranges, thermoses of hot chocolate, and a tube of Toblerone will top up your day in the woods perfectly!

For more information, call the Sundre Alberta Agriculture and Forestry office at 403-638-3805, or visit

The Mountain View County office is halfway between Didsbury and Olds on Highway 2A and the Bergen Road intersection. Watch for the signs.
